We had good feedback from the 10 youths who attended our recent mountain biking activity. It was held on 28th May at Lambourne Outdoor centre in Essex. The youths that attended were split into two groups. Each group took part in three different activities: team challenges, fencing and mountain biking.
On the team challenges, the staff from the centre gave us various problems which we had to resolve. This gave them an opportunity to learn how to find solutions to a problem. They did this really well so congratulations to them! They also did mountain biking which involved biking through rough fields and forest for about two hours. Safety equipment such as helmets and gloves were provided and the instructors gave them tips on using their brakes and how to manage themselves in the forest.
At the end of the day some youths wanted to go to the swimming pool at the location as it was lovely weather, lots of sunshine and no wind! Some of the youths asked us to organise an event again so they seemed to enjoy themselves very much.
This event was definitely a valuable day for them to learn a lot of things which they had never experienced before.
